Vintage Japanese Geisha Odori ‘Maiogi' Folding Dance Fan from Kyoto: MayI
This Maiogi Dance Fan was made by
one of Kyoto’s most renown fan makers.  It came from an Odori Dance School in Gion
. It is sturdy and sound without any structural issues and looks great.
It is for either dance practice or for display...
It is a striking, hand-painted wave design in
matt blue with natural lacquered bamboo struts.
It measures about 20” or 52cm from tip to tip when open and is 12” or about 30cm long when closed. No box. Excellent quality!
It is in excellent condition however we are selliing this as a ‘vintage' item. We have taken it’s quality & condition into consideration in the price. See photos for other details… The first two photos show each side of the fan.

Note that due to reduced flights, JAPAN POST has suspended Air Parcel service to the USA, Australia and a few other countries (Europe is not effected). It is not known how long this will last but in the meantime, we are using JAPAN POST SURFACE mail which has tracking and insurance but can take about 60 days to the USA.
Alternatively, for an additional charge, YAMATO INTERNATIONAL offers extremely fast door to door service for a flat-rate for their various size boxes. The smallest “60cm” box is to most countries, can hold up to two kg and measures 27 X 19 X 19cm and arrives in about a week.
