This vintage 1960’s folding sensu fan came from Kansai’s famous Kintetsu Department Store
.
Finely made of washi rice paper, printed with a scene of two flying fish jumping from the sea. It is plain eggshell-white on the back and has
natural lacqured bamboo struts. It is unsued and still in the original
sleeve.
It
measures 15” or 39cm from tip to tip when open and is 8½” or about 22cm long when closed.
Condition:
This fan show no sign of apparent use but may have a slight patina of age from storage (wax paper sleeve is torn)

Note that due to reduced flights, JAPAN POST has suspended Air Parcel service to the USA, Australia and a few other countries (Europe is not effected). It is not known how long this will last but in the meantime, we are using JAPAN POST SURFACE mail which has tracking and insurance but can take about 60 days to the USA.
Alternatively, for an additional charge, YAMATO INTERNATIONAL offers extremely fast door to door service for a flat-rate for their various size boxes. The smallest “60cm” box is to most countries, can hold up to two kg and measures 27 X 19 X 19cm and arrives in about a week.
