This is a killer piece of TV history:
An IMPOSSIBLE to find set of original ADVANCE One-Sheet (27x40 inch) posters made for Wild-Posting before the show GLEE aired in May of 2009!
These are two of the rarest and most important TV posters ever made available on eBay. They're truly impossible to find. That's because these were made for wild-posting
before
the show broke. Once it aired the groundbreaking show became a sensation, and so items issued post May 19th 2009 were very likely to have been saved. These were NOT, as they were issued to be pasted-up with glue.
WILD-POSTING
is a term used by the advertising industry that describes a method of poster distribution. Posters would be pasted up around large cities - On dead walls, construction sites, etc. Posters made for wild-postings are the rarest of all because they were only used once and then destroyed by the glue.  Almost all posters made for wild-posting are printed only one time.
I've been collecting and selling posters full-time for over 40 years now (no other job). I presently live in LA, which is the poster capital of the world. In 2009, when these posters were issued, I lived in Hollywood. Back then, I had an arrangement with some of the poster hangers to get some of the overages that they were left with after they finished hanging the posters. That's how I obtained these two one-sheets.
I ONLY obtained these TWO single posters on Glee
, because that's all they had left. After the show hit and became a big deal, I looked for more but couldn't find any. You might have had the same difficulty. I recently went thru the stock of posters I received during my Hollywood stay, and happily, I came across this pair. It's been nearly a decade now since their issue and I thought it might be a good time to list them in my store.
These one-sheet were originally printed and issued with machine folds. That's how the paper hangers received them from Fox. When I obtained the pair, I immediately put them in a flat pack between acid-free paper. They've been stored that way ever since. BOTH posters are in
