Have you just dropped thousands of dollars on a DJI S1000 or S900 because you're into aerial photography / videography, realize you need extra batteries but don't know what connectors you need in order to inter-operate with the stock setup? Have you bought a set of AS150 thinking that's all you need only to find out the black side doesn't fit?
DJI, in a move to prevent plugging the batteries into the octocopter incorrectly decided on a solution I've never before seen in the R/C industry - they used 2 different connectors - literally making it impossible to plug in the wrong way.
It's an effective solution for the R/C novice, but one not clearly or consistently conveyed to the consumer
- in some DJI literature I've seen them reference both AS150 and XT150 where in other places they refer to the combination simply as "AS150".
For the red wire they use an AS150 which have 7MM bullets, the male bullet on the vehicle has a resistor built into it which prevents against sparks normally seen in high voltage applications (that's why they have you plug the red side in last). For the black wire they went with an XT150 connector with a 6MM bullet. Both are very high quality, gold plated bullet connectors with sturdy plastic housings however it's caused massive confusion on message boards and I've had plenty of inquiries (always post-order) asking if what they just purchased is what they really need...
What I've put together is what you'll need to solder onto your batteries in order to connect to the stock connectors on the S1000 & S900 - 2 previously confused, but now very happy, customers have confirmed the sets I made for them are exactly what they needed.
Each item contains:
(1) AS150 Red Housing (Male)
(1) AS150 7MM Bullet (Female)
(1) XT150 Black Housing (Male)
(1) XT150 6MM Bullet (Female)
These 4 pieces are honestly all you need to fully equip a lipo battery to plug into an S1000 or S900.
If you need the opposite - a 4 piece set to make a charger cable for the batteries, or, a 4 piece set to replace the stock connectors on the DJI let me know as I have those pieces in stock also.
