Bison has been forging quality tools for over 125 years. Bison’s tools are used by the German Army, fire brigades and foresters worldwide. Bison 1879 is a return to the Master Blacksmith’s art of hand forging traditional axes of the highest quality, using traditional designs and only the highest quality German Steel hardened to HRC51-56. Every Bison 1879 is fitted with an American hickory handle and wedged with both wood and steel wedges for the ultimate in durability. The Bison 1879 Hookaroon is an incredibly useful tool for lifting, pulling and stacking when trimming short timber. The faceted cut on the tempered tip firmly hooks into the wood but releases easily.
